We welcome with open hearts and arms our newest leader at FES, Mrs. Candace Hendricks.

Mrs. Hendricks brings a plethora of educational experience and knowledge with her into the principal role. She loves kids and was created to serve others. She will begin her new positon on July 1. Here is more about Mrs. Hendricks.

Hello FES Community! My name is Candace Hendricks, and I am truly honored to be stepping into the role of principal at Flomaton Elementary School. I am thrilled to be joining you and look forward to working together to create a positive and enriching learning experience for our students.

Education has been at the heart of my career for many years. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a middle school English Language Arts and history teacher, school counselor, gifted program facilitator, and assistant principal while in Florida, and most recently, the ELA Specialist for schools here in Escambia County. Each of these roles has given me a deeper understanding of how to support students, empower teachers, and create a positive learning environment.

As a proud graduate of this very community, it truly means the world to me to come back home and give back to the place that helped shape who I am. Today, I live in Jay, Florida with my husband, Bill, and our two sons, Nathan and Matthew. When I’m not at school, you’ll most likely find me spending quality time with my family—we love being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, or just soaking up the sunshine out on the water.

Flomaton Elementary School has a proud legacy of phenomenal leadership, and I am deeply honored to have been chosen to follow in the footsteps of those who have come before me. I’m truly excited to begin this new chapter with all of you, and I look forward to working together to continue the tradition of excellence that makes Flomaton Elementary so special.
